Job Purpose:
Responsible for the day-to-day coordination, leadership, and administration of the respite social day program for persons with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.

Responsibilities include:
Oversee participant intake, screening, and discharge process
Plan and execute the daily delivery of the program and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
Organize and lead group projects, discussions, games and activities
Interact with participants on a one-to-one basis
Assist in recruiting, interviewing and selecting well-qualified program volunteers
Develop supportive relationships with caregivers
Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on all program participants
Work within the budget to procure needed supplies for activities, meals and care supplies

Passion for Respite Care Charleston’s vision and mission
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a human services field of study
2-5 years’ experience in providing social services to people with memory loss and their loved ones
Good interpersonal communication skills
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and familiarity with Google Docs.
